BUrrrrp!

Recently I’ve been lucky to work on several climate projects that reinforced the urgency with which we need to make change, but also highlighted some of the incredible work being done now.

BURRRRP! arose from learning about one such solution: feeding cows seaweed to radically reduce the amount of methane these global greenhouse gas culprits burp into the atmosphere.

Telling stories is an important way we make sense of the world. We are still in nascent stages of how we tell stories around climate, and personally I believe we can broaden the tonal range (particularly when speaking to our youngest/most promising generation).

The aim of this book is of course to inform, but more than that, to just be FUN. With help from illustrations by Kuala Lumpur-based tattooist, Apoh, I hope we were able to achieve that.

BURRRRP! is the first book published by Real Nice Ink, a fledgling children’s book imprint by myself and my husband, Terence Teh.
